A Swedish retailer has posted a listing for a Nintendo Switch version of the Metroid Prime Trilogy, igniting speculation that an announcement for this week's The Game Awards is in the pipeline.
The trilogy was previously released on the Wii and Wii U, and features Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The first two games were released on the GameCube, while the third Prime a Wii-exclusive.
It should be noted that a translation of the retailer's listing says that the Switch version is only rumoured, and is expecting a reveal at this week's The Game Awards.
To be fair, a Switch version of the Metroid Prime Trilogy would make a lot of sense. Metroid Prime 4 is currently in development, so it would be a great way for players who haven't played the previous games to catch up on Samus' adventures.
Metroid Prime 4 is 'well into development,' so hopefully we'll hear more on that soon, too.
