Often considered one of the best handheld offerings, players will once more step into the boots of everyone’s favourite space bounty hunter as she investigates a mysterious space station.

However, rather than her usual foes – the Metroid – she comes across a new mysterious parasitic organism known as X that has taken over the station and started mimicking its prey.

Metroid Fusion Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack release date

Metroid Fusion arrives on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack GBA catalogue from March 9, 2023.

The arrival of the game comes not long after a remastered version of Metroid Prime was also released on the Nintendo Switch, so Metroid fans are certainly having a bumper time of it of late.

Players will need to be subscribed the Expansion Pack tier of the Nintendo Switch Online service to be granted access to the game, as the standard version only offers original Game Boy games.

However, it’s a great time to be a member – as Metroid Fusion arrives the same day as Wave 4 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, also available to Expansion Pack subscribers at no extra cost.

There’s more still to come to the GBA catalogue on Nintendo Switch – with Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Fire Emblem, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity and Golden Sun on the way.
