Deep Silver has formally announced Metro Redux, a compilation release featuring fully remastered versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light due on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC this summer.

Both games are said to have been reworked for next-gen consoles, featuring 60fps gameplay and “new and improved content and features”, including new ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ options. It’ll also include all of the content released for Metro: Last Light via DLC.

Developer 4A Games has also rebuilt the original Metro 2033 in the latest version of the its 4A Engine, which it says will bring “all the graphical and gameplay improvements from Last Light to Metro 2033 Redux”.

It isn’t yet clear whether 4A will achieve full parity across both next-gen versions, though. PlayStation Blog says that Metro Redux will run at 1080p on PS4, although it isn’t yet known what resolution it’ll run at on Xbox One.

As well as being available together at retail for £34.99, the two titles will also be available individually from the Xbox One Games Store and PlayStation Store for £15.99 each.
