Deep Silver has released a new 6-minute video of Metro Redux, detailing the improvements made to the upcoming remaster and comparing the next-gen version with the earlier 360/PS3 releases.

The new game, which lands on PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 29, boasts twice the frame rate of the earlier console versions and an improved resolution, running at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One.

A variety of gameplay refinements have been made to the game as well, introducing new, harder difficulty modes and stitching levels together that would have otherwise been separated by load times. Lighting and weather effects have been improved, too, with a new global illumination technique allowing for a more realistic take on post-apocalyptic Russia.
