The 3DS remake of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D has been delayed into 2012, Kotaku Australia is reporting.

Konami hasn’t narrowed the date down any further than that, but given it was originally scheduled for release in November, it’d be nice to think it’d be ‘early 2012’.

The Metal Gear Solid HD collection will be available by the end of the year, of course, so those desperate to play through Snake’s jungle shenanigans again won’t miss out. This could have a considerable impact on sales of the 3DS version, however.

Snake Eater 3DS is a full 3D reworking of the 2005 PlayStation 2 original. It will feature an updated camouflage system that takes advantage of the 3DS camera.
