The first reviews of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will go live at 9am BST on Monday, August 24, one week ahead of the game’s launch.

Steve popped down to Konami’s review event in London to play through most of Kojima’s latest – and possibly last – Metal Gear earlier this month, so you’ll be able to read his initial thoughts on the PS4 version early Monday morning. We’ll also have some footage of the game to follow once we’ve received a copy in the office.

In the meantime, though, why not check out what he thought of The Phantom Pain’s prologue Ground Zeroes?

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain launches on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on September 1, with its multiplayer mode Metal Gear Online set to launch on console one month later on October 6.

You can pre-order the game now from Amazon.
