Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will launch on PC on September 1, the same day the game arrives on console, Konami has announced. The PC version had previously been due to arrive two weeks later on September 15.

PC players can look forward to plenty of upgrades over the console versions, including support for 4K resolutions and custom MP3 soundtracks. Pre-order from Steam and you’ll also be given a free copy of the game’s prologue Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes.

The Phantom Pain’s online multiplayer component, Metal Gear Online, however, has seen a delay on all platforms, and will not arrive on console until October 6. PC’s been hit even harder, with a launch not expected until January 2016.

Access to Metal Gear Online is included with all copies of The Phantom Pain.

A new trailer for the game is due to be released tomorrow offering a closer look at its Mother Base mechanic.

You can pre-order the game now from Amazon.
