The oft-maligned Metal Gear Solid 2 and the oft-praised Metal Gear Solid 3 have been added to Microsoft's ever-growing list of backward compatible games on Xbox One.

If you previously purchased the Metal Gear Solid HD Edition double pack in 2012, you can now get stealthing around the place as Solid Snake, Naked Snake and Raiden, all over again. Either download the games from the Marketplace, or pop in your old disc.

Peacewalker was added to the back compat list in March this year, and while it's good that Phil Spencer is beavering away at his binary code to make all the old games work, it would be nice if we had all the Metal Gear games available to us on Xbox One, but we're getting there.

I'm just happy to go back and face off against The End again; maybe this time I'll actually successfully shoot him after that cutscene. Probably not, though. I'll just fast forward my clock again, whatever.
