Speaking to the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Kojima offered some brief details of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and also his thoughts on the new PS3 controller.
“I miss the rumble, and even now I hope it will come back, said Kojima of the Sixaxis controller.
He also says that MGS4 will definitely use motion sensing functionality, but how exactly he can’t say for sure. Other changes over MGS3 include more direct control, with Kojima noting that “controls in MGS3 got a little complex.“
Kojima also explained that in MGS4 players will be able to align themselves with a particular nation. Doing so will change the way you are perceived by enemies and the GEKKO robots seen in the trailers. This means that on some occasions the robots will be on your side.
The article states that the game is now out of the research stage and we can look forward to its release in late 2007 or more likely early 2008.
