Metacritic is removing user reviews for Mass Effect 3 that are breaking its terms of use.

The aggregation site has been flooded with negative reviews for BioWare’s latest effort, with many users apparently signing up for the sole purpose of slating the game.

“We have already removed user reviews which have broken our terms of use,” said editor-in-chief Marc Doyle, in a statement to Kotaku. “We will continue to monitor user reviews and take the steps needed to ensure our users both comply with those terms and do not have to read other reviews which break them.”

While some people will no doubt interpret this as an attempt to whitewash, that’s not the case: The user score for the 360 version still stands at 4.8, at the time of writing.
