Big-budget manly EA shooty gun game Medal of Hono(u)r: Warfighter will be released this October, EA has confirmed.
EA confirmed the existence of the game via the official Medal of Honor website.
A Gameinformer report (citing OXM) says the game will be developed exclusively by Danger Close and will use DICE’s Frostbite 2.0 engine, which also powered last year’s Battlefield 3. 2010’s Medal of Honor was developed by both Danger Close and DICE.
Not many other details were made public – more details will allegedly be revealed at GDC next month – but I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest you will play multiple roles in the US military and get involved in some sort of tricky war skirmish that requires you to shoot all kinds of fabulous guns and possibly a rocket at a helicopter. I also think there will be a level where you take the turret seat on a moving vehicle.
But how do you actually get the Medal of Honor, the highest military decoration awarded by the United States Military? Wikipedia knows!
“Conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while engaged in an action against any enemy of the United States; while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party.”
