D3Publisher has announced the winter release of Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond, a new side-scrolling shooter which sees Hazard go back in time to protect his 8-bit self.
General Neutronov, one of Matt’s nemeses, has reactivated all of Hazard’s greatest enemies from [made up] classics like Matt’s original adventure, ‘The Adventures of Matt in Hazard Land’ and ‘Chest of the Pirate Queen’ in an attempt to destroy Matt’s former self in the past and end his present.
Blood Bath and Beyond is described as nonstop run-and-gun action at its finest, in which players must progress, either alone or in co-op, through a pirate hideout, an ancient Japanese castle, the Old West, Siberian ice mines and the moon.
The game is scheduled for release before the year end on Xbox LIVE Arcade and PSN.
