A ‘trusted source’ of Joystiq has told the site that BioWare’s upcoming announcement at the VGA’s will be Mass Effect 3. The site is also speculating whether the series will get its first multiplayer mode.
BioWare has been teasing us for a few weeks now about its upcoming announcement, which might finally see the Mass Effect series head to Earth.
Sony Russia also recently tweeted that BioWare’s announcement was Mass Effect 3, though this was quickly removed.
The VGA awards will take place at 1:00am GMT on Sunday 12 December.
BioWare is one of the world’s most respected developers, but the studio’s flirtations with multiplayer have never been quite as successful as their single-player arcs. If a multiplayer mode for Mass Effect 3 (which itself still needs to be officially announced) were to be unveiled, we think the best solution would be something like co-op missions over standard deathmatch modes.
