PlayStation 3 gamers will be getting a considerably worse version of the highly anticipated Mass Effect 3, according to performance analysis tests run by Digital Foundry.
As was the case with the Mass Effect 3 demo, the final game appears to run at a significantly lower frame rate on the PS3 compared to the Xbox 360 game. The performance tests reveal that the PlayStation 3 version frequently drops down to a disappointing 20 frames per second, whereas the Xbox 360 game manages to maintain 30 frames per second more consistently.
To make matters worse for PS3 gamers the report also states “that the frame-rate dips impact controller response during shoot-outs to a certain extent”.
Mass Effect 3 is out in the UK on March 9, but you can read our review now.
