Mass Effect 3’s long-awaited Extended Cut DLC has gone live on Xbox Live Marketplace.

The free 1.85gb file can now be downloaded straight to your Microsoft console machine using the magic of your whizzy broadband internet connection.

BioWare has said Extended Cut “does not fundamentally change the endings, but rather it expands on the meaning of the original endings, and reveals greater detail on the impact of player decisions.”

You’ll need a save file from (spoilers – avert your gaze!) just before the attack on the Cerberus base to trigger all this new content.

Other platforms will also get the Extended Cut DLC today, with the sole exception of the PlayStation 3 in Europe.
