Microsoft has started a week-long sale of some Mass Effect 2 DLC, offering 50% off three items until August 1.

Lair of the Shadow Broker is being sold for 400 Microsoft Points.

Two other packs, the recent Arrival, which bridges the gap between Mass Effect 2 and 3, and Kasumi – Stolen Memory have been reduced to 280 Microsoft Points.

“There are some choice moments across Arrival’s duration, but it’s just a shame that Mass Effect 2’s final piece of DLC is undoubtedly its weakest,” VideoGamer.com said in its 6/10 Mass Effect 2 – Arrival review.

Lair of the Shadow Broker fared much better. We said it “plays with the characters, teases a few conclusions and ultimately leaves you wanting more,” in our 8/10 Mass Effect 2 – Lair of the Shadow Broker review

The Overlord DLC, which has you fighting a rogue virtual intelligence, hasn’t been included in the deal. That’s a bit of a shame because it’s quite good.

Yesterday, BioWare said Mass Effect 3 has been designed to be a new beginning for the series.
