Capcom has announced that Marvel VS Capcom 2 will be released on Xbox LIVE Arcade on July 29.

The game will be available globally to all Xbox LIVE members priced 1,200 MS Points. Capcom’s press release makes no mention of the game’s launch date on PSN, with the Capcom Unity Twitter stating a date will be announced soon.

While Marvel VS Capcom 2 hasn’t been given the same HD treatment of the wonderful Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, it will boast the same solid online experience allowing players to go head-to-head over PSN or Xbox LIVE. Newly added online modes include Ranked Matches and the popular Quarter Match that allows up to four people to watch and chat while two others are battling it out.

Additionally, Capcom has added optional visual filters, allowing users to smooth over some of the game’s pixelated visuals.
