Capcom has announced that its updated version of the highly regarded brawler, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, will be released on the PlayStation Store on August 13, 2009, priced £11.99.

This means PlayStation 3 gamers will have to wait two weeks longer than Xbox 360 gamers to get their hands on the beat-em up.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 hasn’t been given the same HD treatment of the wonderful Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, but it will boast the same solid online experience allowing players to go head-to-head over PSN or Xbox LIVE. Newly added online modes include Ranked Matches and the popular Quarter Match that allows up to four people to watch and chat while two others are battling it out.

Additionally, Capcom has added optional visual filters, allowing users to smooth over some of the game’s pixelated visuals.
