Season 3 of Marvel Rivals just arrived. NetEase released plenty of new content for players to enjoy, including a new hero and a new map. On top of this, the game developer released balance changes, interface tweaks, and lots of other things that will make a difference. All of these changes were detailed in the latest Marvel Rivals patch notes, so let’s take a deeper look at them.
Marvel Rivals patch notes for Season 3
New hero
Phoenix joined the impressive lineup of Marvel Rivals heroes as the 40th character. She is a Duelist who attacks enemies with long-range attacks and can also fly.
New map
Klyntar: Celestial Husk is a new Domination map. Like other Domination maps, it has three different sections.
Season 3 Battle Pass
New Battle Pass arrived with Season 3! It has 10 costumes, and two of them are free. In addition to this, the seasonal pass features many other rewards, including Lattice, Units, and Unstable Molecules.
Free skins
Storm and Hawkeye now have new free skins in Marvel Rivals. Storm’s skin is available through a limited-time event called Milano Repair Logs, and it’s unlockable after finishing event quests. On the other hand, Hawkeye’s skin is a Twitch Drop.
Balance changes (buffs and nerfs)
Season 3 of Marvel Rivals brings numerous balance changes, as nearly half of the hero roster has been affected by them.

Tournaments
The third season of the Marvel Rivals Championship is here! Dynamic nameplate designs have been introduced for champion, runner-up, and third-place. Play 10 Open Qualifiers for an exclusive spray reward. Platinum III remains the minimum sign-up rank, with faction slots for each region increased to 2,500. The sign-up phase is shorter due to the season length adjustment.
New Verified Faction System: Officially approved Factions get access to a unique name pool, verified name styles, and exclusive icons.
Fixes and Optimizations
The new season of Marvel Rivals brings numerous fixes and optimizations, as detailed in the official patch notes:
- Match Summary Revamp: More detailed stats and functions added
- Gallery Update: Merged “Serials” and “Special Edition,” added a new “Cinematics” tab featuring map cutscenes
- Costume MVPs: Previously Costume-Exclusive MVPs can now be used with any costume for greater customization. Mix and match freely
- Fixed terrain issues that could cause characters to become stuck or clip through odd locations
- Resolved various issues, including floating broken objects, collision errors, etc
- Improved symbiote lift devices: Now require a player to stand on them to trigger upon attack
- Soundwave Enhancement: Added new, softer high-frequency hit and impact sound effects. Adjust settings in Audio > Combat Mix
- Thing’s Rocky Road: We’ve fixed an issue where The Thing’s Embattled Leap ability couldn’t target Wolverine while the Fastball Special was charging up. Now, nothing will stop Ben from jumping to Logan’s side
- Emote Antics: We’ve patched up several emote animation bugs across the roster
Finally, the latest Marvel Rivals update made the game size on consoles smaller. While the initial patch may be bigger, future patches will have a reduced size, which helps conserve storage space.
