Season 3 of Marvel Rivals is ready for its launch. NetEase will release it on Friday, July 11, at 9 AM UTC, bringing lots of new content to the game. The upcoming season will introduce Phoenix as the 40th hero, and we’ll also get another Klyntar map. Furthermore, the season brings numerous other additions, including new cosmetic items, balance changes, and more.
While the update will come out at 9 AM UTC, the new season won’t be playable right away. Instead, we will have to wait for the downtime to end before trying out all the new content. Fortunately, the server downtime won’t be too long, as the Marvel Rivals developer revealed its duration.
How long will the next Marvel Rivals downtime last?
Once NetEase releases a new Marvel Rivals update, game servers will go down. This is a regular maintenance procedure to ensure that the launch of Season 3 goes smoothly. Luckily, the downtime won’t be too long, as the game developer expects it to last for only two hours.
The update size has been leaked, and it shouldn’t take more than a couple of minutes to download it. Interestingly, the upcoming season is just over one gigabyte in size, making it one of the smallest updates.
If everything goes according to plan, Marvel Rivals servers should be back up by 11 AM UTC (7 AM Eastern Time). Once servers go live, anyone who’s downloaded the latest update will be able to try out the new content, including a free Symbiote Storm skin.
The upcoming update will reduce the size of Marvel Rivals on consoles. Because of this, players on PlayStation and Xbox may get a bigger update on Friday morning. However, even a larger download should be completed by the time servers go back up.
