With Season 3 right around the corner, the Marvel Rivals developer has prepared lots of new content. The latest dev vision video revealed some of it, hyping up the community for the release of a new season on July 11. One major focus will be changes to the competitive mode, which has been one of the community’s biggest complaints.
While NetEase has released several limited-time game modes in Marvel Rivals, the truth is that most players care only about Quick Play or Competitive. The former is easier and quite relaxing, while the latter can be very frustrating at times. However, this may change with the release of Season 3.
Marvel Rivals will get a new competitive mode in Season 3
The latest dev diary showcased some of the new content coming to Marvel Rivals in the future. NetEase intends to launch a new season every two months, while also adding a new hero on a monthly basis. For Season 3, the heroes that will join are Phoenix and Blade.
The popular hero shooter will go through many changes with the release of Season 3, including several buffs and nerfs. However, NetEase will also release a new competitive mode next month.
Guangguang, the game’s creative director, revealed that a new mode will come out in Season 3.5. Considering that Season 3 shouldn’t last longer than two months, we expect this massive mid-season update to come out around August 8. Besides a new competitive mode, the update will add a new map, and Blade will likely arrive with it.
At the moment, no one knows what the new mode will be. It may be a completely new mode, similar to Team Deathmatch or Capture the Flag, but NetEase may also decide to revamp the current mode. With Marvel Rivals Season 3 arriving on July 11, we should find out more information soon. However, one thing is for sure: the competitive landscape will never be the same once a new mode comes out.
