NetEase just revealed some of the patch notes for the first update of Marvel Rivals Season 3. The season went live on Friday, adding a new Duelist and map. Furthermore, the game creator released a new Battle Pass, which features 10 costumes and numerous other rewards.
As the Marvel Rivals roadmap reveals, this season will get lots of new content every week. To start off, we are getting a Summer Party event and new swimsuit skins!
Marvel Rivals patch notes for the July 17 update
Summer skins
The first batch of summer skins in Marvel Rivals will feature Loki and Psylocke. They will get new skins, which will be available in the in-game store on Friday, July 18, at 2 AM UTC (Thursday, 10 AM ET).
- Breezy Butterfly Psylocke
- Robe of Relaxation Loki
Loki’s skin will cost 1,600 Units and include MVP animation, spray, emote, and nameplate. The price of Psylocke’s summer skin is currently unknown, but it should be revealed soon.
Summer Special event
Besides summer skins, NetEase will release a summer event as well. The event comes with several cosmetics, both free and paid. It kicks off on July 17 at 2 PM Pacific Time and ends on August 15 at 2 AM PT.

Thor will receive a free skin during the Marvel Rivals summer event, while skins for Luna Snow and The Thing will be included in the premium track of the Summer Special event pass.
Skin recolors
The upcoming Marvel Rivals update will bring more skin recolors, NetEase has revealed. These will be the recolors for the upcoming summer skins:
- Psylocke – Breezy Butterfly: Violet Veil and Moonlit Mirage
- Luna Snow – Cool Summer: Radiant Radiance and Prismatic Pulse
- Thor – Worthy Waves: Azure Skies
- Loki – Robe of Relaxation: Tidal Trickery
In addition, Psylocke and Luna Snow will get Ultimate Ability VFX.
Tweaks
Accessory Points can now be earned via Practice VS. AI.
Fixes and Optimizations
- Fixed an issue where modifying keybinds for keyboard and controller could affect each other under certain circumstances. Â
- Fixed terrain issues that could cause characters to become stuck or clip through odd locations.
- Resolved various issues, including floating broken objects, collision errors, etc.
Heroes
- Monster Hulk’s Smash Mishaps: We’ve put a stop to a gamma-powered glitch where Monster Hulk’s Ultimate Ability could display incorrectly if the unlucky target happened to be on a portal during the grab animation. Now, when Hulk smashes, there’s no portal-twisting madness, just pure, unfiltered Hulk mayhem! Â
- Magneto’s Magnetized Mix-ups: Fixed a bug where Magneto could still sometimes suffer negative effects when blocking Cloak’s Terror Cape with Metallic Curtain. Now, nothing will get through his ironclad defenses. Â
