Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 is only a few days away. NetEase will drop it on Friday, August 8, bringing lots of new content to the game. While the addition of Blade, a new Duelist, is the highlight of the season, the game developer will bring many other changes. Unfortunately, some of them won’t be positive for the community.

NetEase recently unveiled Season 3.5 patch notes, revealing all the buffs and nerfs coming with it. Besides hero balance changes, the game creator shared details about all the other changes and improvements, including a change that will prevent players from playing together. Yes, you read that right!

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 will prevent teams from playing together in Ranked

Ranked mode is a big part of Marvel Rivals. It’s very competitive and has no bots, which makes winning quite challenging, but also rewarding. Unfortunately, this mode will receive a controversial change in the upcoming update. More specifically, NetEase will limit the number of players that can team up in every rank.

Here are the changes coming with the next update:

  • Players in Bronze, Silver, and Gold can queue for Competitive in any team size except 5-player teams.
  • Players in Platinum, Diamond, and Grandmaster can queue for Competitive in teams of up to 3 players.
  • Players in Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All can queue for Competitive in teams of up to 2 players.

Reaching the Platinum rank is quite easy, yet reaching it will prevent four-player teams from playing together. While this is a positive change for solo players, it will completely ruin the mode for those who play competitively with their friends.

Ever since NetEase published patch notes, Marvel Rivals players have been unhappy about this change. Season 3.5 will bring a couple of positive changes as well, such as stricter penalties. Still, if the game creator doesn’t change the teaming rule, many players will likely stay away from the ranked mode.
