Players using cheating devices in Marvel Rivals are being punished after the arrival of new detection tools. After announcing punishments for gamers using keyboard and mouse adapters, players are being met with 100-year bans.

Marvel Rivals’ 100-year bans

Added with Season 1 – Eternal Night, NetEase’s new detection tools are already handing out bans to players using keyboard and mouse adapters to gain an unfair advantage against other players.

The developer is handing out temporary bans for players abusing the game, albeit temporary bans that last more than the average lifetime. Instead of slapping a cheater with a permanent ban, NetEase is banning players until the year 2124

Similar to military shooter Delta Force, Marvel Rivals has a team of ban checkers to manually remove craters from the game. While some ban waves have accidentally banned players for no reason in the past, the team has also worked hard to unban players who’ve done no wrong.

In fact, Rivals has been universally praised for its anti-cheat method and its rapid removal of cheaters. After reporting a player for obvious cheating —such as wall hacks and aim bot — the game will typically hand out a ban within the hour.
