Fresh information on Mario Kart Wii has emerged from the pages of Official Nintendo Magazine. Most exciting is the news that the game’s Battle mode will support up to 16 players online.

There’s also some early info on the tracks set to feature. In addition to a host of new circuits, players can look forward to graphically superior versions of the circuits seen in Mario Kart DS.

The magazine also notes that stunts will now play some part, with players able to pull off mid-air tricks, although their relevance to the gameplay isn’t yet known.

Mario Kart Wii is currently scheduled for release early in 2008.

Update: It turns out that this new info is actually nothing more than speculation.
