Metal Mario and Lakitu will join the roster of playable characters in this December’s Mario Kart 7 for Nintendo 3DS. The pair’s inclusion was revealed in a video interview.
Metal Mario is, well, metal, and drives around in a metal version of Mario’s red kart. Lakitu, who has traditionally been the guy who starts each race, is now a racer complete with a cloud racing kart.
Shigeru Miyamoto has also promised that that there are further character reveals still to come.
Mario Kart 7 will be released in Europe on December 2, just a few weeks after Super Mario 3D Land.
