Luigi's Mansion 3, which is coming out for the Switch this year, has some intriguing content that was cut from the game.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe revealed that the game was going to have a Portal-style warping mechanic.
'One idea was the puzzle gimmick of turning on a TV in one room and being able to emerge via a TV in another room – and go back and forth between them,' said Tanabe.
He then goes on to explain that the mechanic – which sounds really cool – was cut due to space restrictions. 'We had planned that warp feature throughout the game,' said Tanabe, 'but ultimately we weren't able to put a TV in every room, so we didn't do it throughout the hotel.'
Elsewhere, Tanabe was asked if Luigi shouldn't start to doubt these strange invitations that keep turning up and luring him to questionable places. Tanabe gave one of the best answers in recent memory, saying, 'The Mario family does not really doubt.'
I think we can all take something from that.
