We’re seeing the lowest ever RX 7600 price right ahead of the RTX 4060’s launch, making the AMD card more tempting than ever.

Whether or not the price drop is the direct result of the imminent RTX 4060 release date, is hard to know for sure. Either way, the outcome is the same – an impressively low price on a card that goes toe to toe with the 4060, boasting great 1080p performance.

This XFX version of the RX 7600 had a price of $289 on release day. This is $20 more than the card’s MSRP but this was explained by the card’s increased clock speed. What’s more, we’ve now seen that price cut down to $269, meaning you can get the performance benefits without the extra cost.

This could prove a savvy move by XFX and makes the card a full $30 lower than the RTX 4060’s price.

XFX RX 7600 price slashed ahead of the launch of the RTX 4060

AMD and Nvidia have been duking it out in the GPU market for years now, with each generation the companies release more powerful than the last. Both the RTX 4060 and the RX 7600 are designed for the mid-range market, offering a good 1080p gaming performance for affordable prices. This means the two cards are in direct competition with each other, hinting that this price cut may be an attempt to capture the market.

It could work too, the XFX Speedster RX 7600 is one of the best GPUs for 1080p, just like the RTX 4060, and it is now available for $249, a full $30 less than the MRSP of the 4060. This could be enough to tempt people to go for it over the Nvidia competition.

We don’t have a full sense of the performance of these two cards, but they are likely to be pretty similar, with the 4060 perhaps offering better framerates when ray tracing is enabled, thanks to its Lovelace architecture.

Is the RX 7600 worth it?

The RX 7600 is a great card for those looking to game at 1080p. While it might not be as crisp as 4K, FHD is one of the most popular gaming resolutions, mostly thanks to how affordable it is. Not only is the best 1080p gaming monitor is also far cheaper than the best 4K gaming monitor, but great 1080p GPUs are more affordable too.

The RX 7600 certainly fits this category and this AIB by XFX improves its performance even further. It can boast frame rates of around 70-100FPS in most games at 1080p. You can also get playable frame rates at 1440p, though perhaps not the kind you’d ideally want for competitive online play.

Overall, it comes down to personal preference. If you are looking for a GPU upgrade and want high performance at 1080p without spending a tonne of cash, the RX 7600 should definitely be a card you consider. This newly reduced price only increases its appeal.
