Lost Planet 3 will be released in the first quarter of 2013, Capcom has confirmed when detailing its plans for the current fiscal year.

LP3 take the series back to its roots, returning to E.D.N. III, a dynamic battlefield that’s more dangerous than ever before with an ever changing climate that promises to affect the way you play. Development has been moved to Unreal Engine 3 and will blend first-person mech combat with third-person gunplay on foot.

The third game in the action series joins Dragon’s Dogma, DmC Devil May Cry and Resident Evil 6 all hitting stores between now and March 31, 2013.

Dragon’s Dogma will launch May 25, Resident Evil 6 has been moved to October 2 and DmC will arrive later this year.

Commenting on the date change for Resident Evil 6, Capcom said: “The use of an efficient development environment reduced the time needed to create this new title. As a result, Capcom made the decision to launch “Resident Evil 6″ earlier than originally planned.”

Capcom says it also has “plans to introduce a number of other significant titles”.
