Warg companions in free-to-play MMO Lord of the Rings Online are being revised in the game’s latest update.

In a recent developer blog, the wolf-like companions are defined as devastating when in stealth mode but have low survivability outside of it.

In the update this issue is addressed, and the pets now have two playstyles users can choose between: “The fragile stealthier or the scrapping brawler”.

Warg skills have been overhauled or altered in order to cope with their initial problems, in addition to the introduction of two new Shadow and Flayer stances.

The MMO’s next major expansion, Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of the Storm is due out August 2012.
