The people behind the Final Symphony and Symphonic Fantasies concerts are bringing another video game music concert to London this summer. Symphonic Odysseys, performed at the Barbican, will focus on the music of Nobuo Uematsu, best known for scoring the Final Fantasy games.

The concert will take place on June 20 this year. It’s performed by the London Symphony Orchestra (along with pianist Mischa Cheung and, perhaps most excitingly, something described as ‘a full kazoo fanfare’) will feature work from throughout Uematsu-san’s 30 year career. This includes themes from Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, as well as Final Fantasy.

The concert will also feature arrangements from Jonne Valtonen and Roger Wanamo, who composed the album of Final Fantasy music, Final Symphony.

Nobuo Uematsu will be at the concert in person, and you can get tickets to a pre-concert show where he will be answering questions and talking to the audience.

“I’m particularly excited that Uematsu-san can join us for what will be our 10th concert with the London Symphony Orchestra. Fans will not want to miss hearing Uematsu’s classic compositions, along with some of his less well known, but equally wonderful works too,” said Symphonic Odysseys London producer Thomas Böcker.

Tickets are available from 10am tomorrow, February 10, on the official concert site and the Barbican website.
