NetherRealm has unveiled a new story trailer for Mortal Kombat 11, confirming the return of three veteran brawlers to the fold: Jax, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao.

Fitting in with the whole time-travelling shenanigans of Mortal Kombat 11's story, the trailer sees Jax and co scrapping with themselves. In Jax's case, it's a younger version of himself, while Liu Kang and Kung Lao go up against evil zombified versions of themselves.

The best bit? The video is set to Ice Cube's 'Check Yo Self.' Brilliant.

NetherRealm recently confirmed that Shang Tsung will return to Mortal Kombat 11 as a downloadable character, where he'll be played by the same actor who portrayed him in the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie.

Mortal Kombat 11 is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on April 23.
