Turbine is offering gamers who pre-order The Lord of the Rings Online the chance to opt into a special lower price subscription or lifetime membership to the game.
Anyone who pre-orders the game will be entered into the Founder’s Program and will benefit from a special $9.99/£5.99 monthly subscription, early access to the game in beta form, character roll-over, unique in-game bonus items and a sticker set (European pre-orders only). Founder status can be gained by pre-ordering the game at lotro.com or at retail stores beginning February 1, 2007 in North America or late March in Europe.
As a member of the Founder’s Program players will be offered two different membership options: $9.99/£5.99 (part of a six month package) per month or a lifetime membership costing $199/£99.
The Founder’s Program is available for a limited time until the commercial release of The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar – scheduled for April 24, 2007. Codemasters are handling the game in Europe, while Midway are handling the MMO in North America.
