Remember that cancelled Level-5 game that the studio teased would be making a comeback? Well, the developer has confirmed to Famitsu magazine (via Nintendo Life) that the game is in fact Ushiro, a title originally in development for PlayStation Portable.

Ushiro was shelved following its 2008 reveal, although it'll now be resurrected for the Nintendo Switch. It's a turn-based strategy game set in modern Japan, where the protagonist interacts with various ghosts and features a gorgeous anime-style aesthetic.

At least, that was the type of game Ushiro was back when it was in the works for PSP. We don't know much about its Switch incarnation yet, and probably won't for a good while.

Still, considering we usually hear more about games getting canned rather than being brought back from the cutting room floor, it's refreshing to hear that Level-5 is working on resurrecting this lost gem.

Here's a trailer for Ushiro back when it was in the works for Sony's last-gen handheld.
