LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be released in the UK on February 18, 2011, Activision has announced.

The new LEGO adventure will plunge players into the heart of the Clone Wars era, with 20 brand new story-based missions and 40 bonus levels. In addition to classic LEGO Star Wars action, the game will allow players to take control of battalions of clone troopers against the relentless droid army in RTS style gameplay, and explore 16 star systems in the best ships to be made from blocks.

The game’s coming to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, Nintendo DS and PSP.

The previous LEGO Star Wars adventures have offered great family fun, taking the much loved Star Wars saga and introducing a touch of LEGO charm and humour. Not all LEGO games have been quite so successful, though – notably LEGO Batman, which didn’t mimic the story from the film series.

The Clone Wars series and movie is aimed at children, meaning the game won’t have the same universal appeal/nostalgia that previous games in the series have managed to achieve.
