Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, the LEGO Group, Harmonix and MTV Games have announced the development of LEGO Rock Band, a new portable Rock Band experience for music fans of all ages.

LEGO Rock Band has been designed to be played without the use of a peripheral and also includes a multiplayer mode where up to four players can participate in local wireless gameplay.

In LEGO Rock Band on DS players can fully customise their minifigure avatars to create an individual style. They’ll then rock out in local venues, stadiums and fantasy locations.

Songs on the soundtrack include:

Kaiser Chiefs: “Ruby”

The Automatic: “Monster”

Ray Parker Jr.: “Ghostbusters”

Tom Petty: “Free Fallin'”

Jackson 5: “I Want You Back”

Vampire Weekend: “A-Punk”

Blur: “Song 2”

Carl Douglas: “Kung Fu Fighting”

Europe: “The Final Countdown”

Good Charlotte: “Girls & Boys”

Pink: “So What”

Counting Crows: “Accidentally in Love”

Sum 41: “In Too Deep”

LEGO Rock Band is scheduled for release this holiday.
