Speaking to Shacknews, Valve has revealed that the highly anticipated Left 4 Dead is to release in the late summer and not during Q1 2008 as was previously announced.

Left 4 Dead is a co-op zombie shooter in which players work together to survive an undead onslaught, all the time making their way to an extraction point. The game’s currently confirmed for Xbox 360 and PC and is in development at Valve’s newly-acquired development house Turtle Rock Studios – most famous for its work on Valve’s Counter-Strike franchise.

Left 4 Dead is looking great and its new August/September release can’t come soon enough.
