Images of Capcom’s latest Resident Evil game, Project Resistance, have leaked and seem to show that it might be a co-op squad shooter.
Reddit user 5eye-samurai put the Project Resistance livestream URL into a YouTube Thumbnail grabber tool, and out spat four images. Four characters in dire straits are shown, armed with a baseball bat, shotgun, handgun, and what looks like a spiked plank. There’s a specky lady and a punk-rock bleach blondie, and a guy decked out in flannel and a man with a varsity jacket. User Nibellion posted higher quality images to Twitter.

Project Resistance will be officially revealed on September 9 at the Tokyo Games Show, and if these images are legit, it definitely doesn’t look like Resident Evil 8 and certainly not an RE 3 remake. It kind of looks like Left 4 Dead, with the distinctly styled characters facing an undead threat together using their own weapon of choice. Capcom hasn’t acknowledged the leak, so we’ll continue to speculate with a pinch of salt until there’s any official updates from the developer.
