The developers behind Layers of Fear, Bloober Team’s latest game Observer (written as >observer_) has now been released and is available to purchase from the PSN store, the Xbox store and Steam. Observer is a cyberpunk survival horror where the player takes on the role of Daniel Lazarski, a mind-reading ‘neural detective’ known as an Observer. Observer features the talents of Rutger Hauer, he of Blade Runner fame, in the lead role as Detective Lazarski as he delves into the minds of criminals and victims to find the truth behind the disappearance of his son.

Observer is set in Krakow, Poland in the year 2084. In this distorted future, Poland is pretty much controlled by its largest employer: Chiron Incorporated. Following a disastrous third world war in the 2050s, the balance of power has shifted, with Poland being the major global power. Society has changed, with a caste system being introduced which dictates how life will pan out for a person depending on their classification.

The story begins when Lazarski receives a mysterious message from his estranged son, a high-level engineer for the mighty Chiron Corporation. Lazarski makes his way to the seedy slums of Krakow to find out more. Utilising his skill set as an Observer, Lazarski hacks into the minds of criminals and their victims, forcing them to relive their worst memories as he attempts to make his way towards the truth.

Observer is out now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
