Konami has announced its Gamescom 2014 lineup, confirming plans to show off “major advances” to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and PES 2015 at next month’s show.

Visitors to the show will be given the chance to “see the sheer scale and ambition” of Kojima’s next Metal Gear Solid, while a playable demo of PES 2015 will be available on the show floor.

“With Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and PES 2015 we will be proudly presenting two of our strongest brands at Europe’s biggest games show, to a huge audience keen for new details,” said Konami general manager Martin Schneider. “Both games show the commitment and energy Konami is bringing to the new formats. We look forward to sharing such important releases with the huge audience at the most vital European event in the gaming calendar.”

Gamescom gets underway on August 13, with Sony’s press conference set for the night before.

PES 2015 launches this autumn on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and “additional formats”. A release date for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has yet to be announced.
