Silent Hill IP owner Konami shared a report on January 29, 2026, outlining its “Consolidated Financial Results for the Nine Months Ended December 31, 2025”. On page nine of the report, under the subheading “Outlook for the Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2026,” Konami briefly states that it is “currently developing a brand-new title in the SILENT HILL series, as well as a remake of the first installment, SILENT HILL”.

Aside from Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill, the only other game that has been announced and is known to be in development is Silent Hill Townfall. Konami could be referring to Townfall in its report, but if so, it is not mentioned by name anywhere, despite the fact that it was announced in 2022 alongside Silent Hill f.
Townfall is being developed by Screen Burn, formerly known as No Code, a studio whose portfolio includes critically acclaimed experimental horror games such as Stories Untold and Observation. There were rumors that Townfall would release in March 2026, but while that remains possible, it is looking increasingly unlikely.
If Konami is not referring to Townfall, then the statement suggests a title that has yet to be announced. It could be a remake of Silent Hill 3, which Bloober Team is rumored to be planning alongside Silent Hill, but the phrase “brand-new title” arguably implies something original.
Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto has previously said that the goal is to release a new title each year, suggesting we could see annual Silent Hill releases through to at least 2029. This adds weight to the possibility of an unannounced game currently in development alongside Townfall and the Silent Hill remake, though nothing has currently leaked.
According to rumors, Townfall is planned for 2026, with the Silent Hill remake expected in 2027. Bloober Team previously developed the excellent remake of Silent Hill 2, so they should be safe hands for remaking the first game, which involves protagonist Harry Mason searching for his missing daughter, Cheryl, in the eerie fog-covered town.
Following the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake in 2024, the franchise has seen a resurgence, with Silent Hill f selling over one million copies in just three days. In addition to expressing a desire for yearly releases, Okamoto has stated that the next game will offer gameplay different from Silent Hill f, ensuring that each installment offers a unique flavor.
While the revival of the games is exciting, it’s unfortunate that the film adaptations continue to be lacklustre, as reflected by the poor Rotten Tomatoes reception for Return to Silent Hill.
