Konami has announced that it’s entered an exclusive global partnership with London’s oldest professional football club, Fulham FC, for its Pro Evolution Soccer series. This agreement will see the Championship club perfectly recreated in the forthcoming PES 2018. The full squad will be recreated in game with all the kits and players replicated using Konami’s full body-scanning process. What a coup.

PES 2018 branding will also feature on the back of the West London club’s new home, away, third and goalkeeping kits, and will be the main sponsor of the Youth Team’s kit, showcasing Konami’s support of the club and its acclaimed youth system. Basically PES 2018 will be prominently displayed in advertisements around the club, with the game also been sold in the club and online stores with an exclusive Fulham FC branded slip case.

So, what does this news mean to pretty much all of us non-Fulham fans? Well, this Fulham FC deal has clearly been announced today as a worthy news story in response to the (frankly ridiculous) £198 million transfer of PES 2018 cover star Neymar from Barcelona to Paris St. Germain.

I think Konami is onto something here. Now get Sheffield United (and I suppose Sheffield Wednesday) as a global partner and we’re talking.
