Kojima Productions has reportedly planned surprises for its pre-E3 event next Thursday, as was announced on Episode 141 of the KP Report podcast.

Host Sean Eyestone revealed “We are going to have a few announcements at E3 and we have some surprises, so be looking forward to that. And we have something special lined-up going on a little bit before E3. So next week, we’re going to have a little special something on June 2.”

A special KP Report has also been planned to coincide with the Konami event.

“We have a lot of reveals there that can’t wait until E3. So we’re going to have a special episode as well next week”

With Kojima Productions’ long history working on the Metal Gear franchise it’s safest to assume that’s where this surprise is headed. Metal Gear Solid: Rising was thought to be on target for release this year on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, but we’ve seen and heard very little on the title since last year’s E3. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is reported to be coming to PS3 via the PSP Remaster series, so an official announcement from Konami could also be on the cards.
