Kojima Productions has confirmed the opening of a new studio in LA, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima announced during his GDC 13 presentation last night.

The new 30,000 sq ft studio – based in the Hercules Campus in Playa Vista, Los Angeles – features its own testing facilities and screening rooms.

The LA studio aims to create “the highest quality interactive entertainment which brings deep emotional experiences” and has a “quality first” approach.

All this will help the developer achieve its goal of becoming the “the top studio in the world”.

Kojima Productions hasn’t revealed which projects the new studio is working on.

During the same presentation Kojima announced Metal Gear Solid 5 and showed off the Fox Engine.
