They might not be the biggest sellers in Europe, but Koei’s Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors titles are traditionally massive sellers in Japan. Koei’s latest and final PS2 release, Musou Orochi, which sees the heroes of both franchises fighting together, has stormed to the top of the Japanese video game chart with impressive first week sales of 406,247 units.

Elsewhere in the top ten it is business as usual for the Nintendo DS with six places occupied by DS software releases – Yoshi’s Island DS places highest at No.2 with 108,812 units sold over the week. The remaining places are taken by Wii Sports, Wii Play and Monster Hunter Portable 2nd for the PSP.
