A PS3 version of MMO Action Strategy RPG sequel Kingdom Under Fire II will be released on PS3 in 2012.

The news was announced collaboratively by Blueside and Sony Computer Entertainment Korea on the opening day of G-Star, one of the biggest online game trade shows in the world.

Kawauchi Shiro, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Korea, said: “The reason why the PS3 is expanding worldwide at such a fast pace is not only because of its unanimously agreed advanced performance, but also its line-up of outstanding games.”

He added: “We are now in a cycle of continuously introducing outstanding titles one after another and it will expand the scope of the console. We will continuously look for ways to collaborate with developers as talented as Blueside, and provide the PS3 users with a unique experience that can only be found on PS3.”

The PS3 version will feature exclusive content, such as characters and missions and will take advantage of the PlayStation Network.

Kingdom Under Fire II will be released for the PS3 in 2012, with a PC version set for 2011.

An Xbox 360 version had been planned, but Blueside made no mention of this version in the latest press release.

Last month game director Sang Youn-Lee revealed that the studio was having trouble bringing the game to Xbox 360 because of strict policy in place by Microsoft.
