The Walt Disney Company have officially confirmed that ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ is currently scheduled to release worldwide on 24th May 2024.
The reveal came as part of an official press release wherein they confirmed release date changes for much of their upcoming movie slate, primarily they’re Marvel Studios movie release schedules, as a result of production on their ‘Blade’ movie starring Mahershala Ali in the titular role, being delayed by the movie’s previous director, Bassim Tariq’s, departure from the production.

As reported by Deadline, production has now begun on ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ at the former Fox Studios Australia in Sydney, New South Wales, which, with the Disney buy over of 20th Century Fox, has now been renamed to Disney Studios, Australia.
The studios, which were opened by 20th Century Fox in 1998, hold a significant place in Hollywood history as they not only hosted the productions of the original Matrix Trilogy (The Matrix, The Matrix: Reloaded, The Matrix: Revolutions). But, also hosted the production of both ‘Star Wars Episode II: Attack of The Clones‘, and ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith‘. With further major Hollywood productions such as ‘Superman Returns‘, ‘Alien Covenant‘, and ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘, all making use of the studios in the years since.
Speaking at a press conference to launch the production, Australian arts minister, Tony Burke, said: “It will be filmed here, and that says a wonderful thing about jobs and creativity in Australia.”

In a breaking exclusive, Deadline, have confirmed that Freya Allan (The Third Day, Gunpowder Milkshake, The Witcher) has been cast as the female lead in their upcoming ‘Planet of the Apes’ sequel ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’.
