Square Enix has released a new Kingdom Hearts video to celebrate the 90th birthday of Disney's Mickey Mouse.

The loveable cartoon rodent (although let's not forget that Mickey was actually a bit of a cheeky sod when he first appeared, and only in later years was he morphed into an everyday hero) debuted the 1928 short film Steamboat Willie, and even got himself on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Outside of appearing in countless cartoons, movies, and comic books, Mickey Mouse also made the transition to video games, with Epic Mickey, Mickey Mania, and of course Kingdom Hearts being main highlights.

It's in Kingdom Hearts that Mickey takes on a Kingly role as ruler of Disney Castle, where he also provides a valuable companion to main protagonist Sora.

Square Enix's 90th birthday video offers a bunch of classic Mickey moments from the Kingdom Hearts franchise, so give it a look if you're a fan of the series or just love Mickey in general (and let's face it, who doesn't have fond memories of Disney's iconic mascot?).

Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019. Those of you thinking of splashing out on the game can do so with the Deluxe Edition of the game, which adds a mini art book.

As with previous games Kingdom Hearts 3 will include a wealth of classic Disney worlds, though don't expect anything from Avengers or Star Wars to appear.
