The developers of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 want players to know that there will not be any DRM in the upcoming medieval RPG. Despite constant claims from gamers on social media, the team behind the upcoming RPG has confirmed that there will be no form of DRM in the game.
In a recent Twitch stream, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 PR chief Tobias Stolz-Zwilling confirmed Denuvo DRM is not present in the game, and wishes gamers would stop spreading misinformation about the title.
No, Denuvo isn’t in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Speaking on the stream, Stolz-Zwilling explained that there will not be any Denuvo DRM on launch for the upcoming RPG. While there were internal discussions, developer Warhorse has not implemented any DRM.
As an anti-priacy solution, the Denuvo DRM solution aims to stop gamers from getting the game for free, but also ends up making games run worse for paying customers. Following an alleged leaked email, many gamers have berated developers for a feature that isn’t in the game.
“I can tell you right now the exact situation, the exact situation is that KCD2 will not have Denuvo in there,” Stolz-Zwilling told viewers. “It will not have any DRM system at all. We never confirmed it. There were some discussions of course, there was some misalignment, there was some misinformation, but at the end of the day there won’t be any Denuvo at all.”
The Kingdom Come Deliverance PR chief took the opportunity to tell viewers that they shouldn’t trust information that doesn’t come straight from the developers, and to shut up about Denuvo in the game.
“I would like you to close the case already,” the developer said. “Stop texting under every post we do that Denuvo is in the game because it is not. We never announced [it]… we never said it will be there. As I said, a bit of a misunderstanding… Let’s bury that thing and let’s never ever talk about it any more. What we can talk about though is the game.”
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is scheduled to launch on PC and console on February 11, 2025.
