Even before the retail price of Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox 360 has been revealed, UK video games retailer ShopTo is calling for Microsoft to make the motion controller cheaper.

The retailer currently lists Kinect for release on November 19 with a retail price of £129.99 – a price it confirmed to Eurogamer is a “placeholder” based on rumoured, but believed to be accurate, pricing for the device in North America.

Should the price end up even higher, ShopTo will honour pre-orders. However, CEO Igor Cipolletta believes the price needs to come down in order to generate interest.

“It’s too high,” said Cipolletta in relation to the Kinect price.

“We believe that with this current economy it should be around £70. For £140 you can buy a Wii. Pre-orders are very low,” he added.
